First coin to be issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the national park system: Okinawa design announced. The government plans to continue issuing about five types of commemorative coins for national parks across the country every year, starting in 2031.
The coins will be silver coins with a face value of 1,000 yen, with designs featuring the nature of each national park. The selling price of the silver coins is 13,800 yen including tax, and 40,000 pieces will be issued each.
