[HIGHLIGHTS] Elering plans to lay a third energy cable between Estonia and Finland

Elering plans to lay a third energy cable between Estonia and Finland. The capacity of EstLink 3, according to the plan, will be 700 MW.

In early January Estlink 1 temporarily stopped functioning fully due to a malfunction. Now Elering continues to search for the location of the damage to the Estlink 2 energy cable, and is seeking permission to lay Estlink 3. The third electrical connection with Finland will help ensure security of supply, achieve climate and energy policy goals, and will also link the Baltic and Nordic countries.
