Aeon Hokkaido announced it will acquire all nine stores in Sapporo operated by supermarket chain Seiyu this October. The acquisition price was 17 billion yen.

From October onwards, the store will operate as an AEON-affiliated store. After October, Aeon will no longer be affiliated with the supermarket chain. The company plans to continue hiring employees in the region. The objective was to acquire stores located in prime locations, the company said. SeiyU has approximately 320 stores nationwide, and since 2021, it has been affiliated with an American investment fund.
