The radio council of Deutschlandradio re-elected Stefan Raue as director of the station on Thursday.
He received 34 out of 34 votes cast.
Raue has been at the helm of Deutschlandradio since 2017, and his second five-year term begins on September 1 of this year.
With the re-election, the Radio Council followed the proposal of the Board of Directors.
The election was postponed twice due to corona and a rail strike.
He thanks for the trust and the clear support, said Raue after the election.
He sees his re-election "also as an expression of great appreciation for the employees who enable and produce our wonderful and, in the best sense, sophisticated radio and audio offers every day".
With the re-election, said the Chairman of the Radio Council, Frank Schildt, the committee recognizes that Raue has set important priorities, which are reflected in the high level of acceptance of the programs.
In addition, the director was "strongly involved in media policy - in the interests of Deutschlandradio, but also in favor of the entire family of public broadcasters".

Raue is leading the station "sovereignty even in turbulent times in terms of broadcasting policy", driving forward the digital conversion and preserving "the brand core of the company despite all financial challenges", said WDR director general Tom Buhrow in his capacity as chairman of the Deutschlandradio board of directors.
Stefan Raue has been director of Deutschlandradio since 2017.
From 2011 he was editor-in-chief of MDR.
He started his professional career as a WDR reporter in Düsseldorf.
Stations at RIAS-TV and, in 1992, Deutsche Welle television followed.
Raue then worked for ZDF for a long time, most recently as deputy head of the main editorial office for domestic policy and the main editorial office for politics and current affairs.
