• Science La Palma registers 45 earthquakes during the night and experts warn of the probability of earthquakes of greater intensity

The National Geographic Institute has registered during this morning more than

70 seismic movements

on the island of

La Palma

, one of them of a magnitude 3.3 located south of the municipality of

El Paso

and felt by the population.

This earthquake took place at 6:28 am today but before,

more than 50 of magnitude between 1.2 and 2.6 were located

, most with the same location in El Paso.

In addition, the depth of these seismic movements ranges between

8 and 1 kilometers

.

At 7:12 a.m. there was also

a 3.2-degree earthquake

whose depth has not yet been determined by the IGN and which, like the previous ones, has been located south of El Paso.

During yesterday there was a reactivation of seismic activity on the island and about 110 seismic movements were located, some of them at zero depth.

The Cabildo de La Palma closes trails

The Cabildo de La Palma has reported the closure of forest trails and tracks in the municipalities affected for a week by the new

seismic swarm

.

Specifically, as announced this Sunday,

the forest trails and tracks

that run through El Paso, Los Llanos de Aridane, Fuencaliente and Villa de Mazo

are closed

.

Likewise, the Insular Corporation has decided to suspend the day of small hunting in El Paso, Los Llanos de Aridane, Fuencaliente, Tazacorte and Villa de Mazo.
