Due to the problem of fraudulent withdrawals in the electronic payment service affiliated with Japan Post Bank, it was found that there were three fraudulent withdrawals of more than 490,000 yen in the smartphone payment service "Merpay".

Japan Post Bank claims that five of the 12 affiliated electronic payment services other than the doCoMo account were damaged in connection with the problem of fraudulent withdrawal of deposits and savings through the "docomo account."

Japan Post Bank has not announced the specific names of these five services, but it has revealed that smartphone payments "PayPay" and "Kyash" have each been damaged.

And on the 16th, the new smartphone payment "Merpay" also announced that there were three fraudulent withdrawals of more than 490,000 yen.

Mercari began collaborating with Japan Post Bank in February, but since all fraudulent withdrawals were made one after another last month, it plans to compensate for the full amount of damage.

In addition, the company will strengthen the procedure for identity verification after the 16th to prevent spoofing.
