The Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFiP) has indicated on its site that various scams are currently rampant.
The people behind these scams are impersonating the DGFiP.
Fraudulent numbers and emails
Thus, certain websites claim that the public finance centers can be reached by contacting premium rate numbers beginning with 0 899 or 0891. The DGFiP confirms that these are fraudulent numbers.
Individuals wishing to obtain tax information should contact public finance centres, whose numbers begin with 01, 02, 03, 04 or 05) depending on their region of residence, or else dial the single non-surcharged number (price of a local call): 0 809 401 401.
Fraudulent emails usurping the email addresses of the DGFiP are also circulating.
They may contain bogus forms as attachments and are particularly aimed at businesses.
The request for bank details, spelling or syntax errors make it possible to identify scams.
In case of doubt, it is advisable not to reply to these messages.
