A newborn spotted zebra has been spotted at Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya, to be the first of its kind, according to the British Daily Mail website.

The zebra has a condition called melanin, a genetic disorder caused by the accumulation of dark melanin in the skin.

This prevents the donkey from developing lines properly, in whole or in parts, but this little zebra has fine lines on its legs only.

No such cases have ever been recorded in Masai Mara, which is rare and individual.

Such a situation has been seen in other gardens in Africa, none of which has lived for more than six months.
