The Hellfest will not be held this year. The organizers of the metal and rock festival announced Wednesday the cancellation of the edition which was to take place next June in Clisson, in Loire-Atlantique, because of the coronavirus pandemic. "I am forced to cancel the Hellfest. I just learned this Wednesday afternoon from the state authorities that an order banned our demonstration," reported Ben Barbaud, director and founder of Hellfest, to the site of the Parisian . The 2020 edition is therefore postponed from June 18 to 20, 2021.

180,000 festival-goers each year
The festival, one of the largest in France with 180,000 festival-goers, was to be held from June 19 to 21. Hellfest was to celebrate its fifteenth anniversary and had programmed several renowned groups, such as the Deftones, Incubus, System of a Down, Korn or even Deep Purple. The festival is one of the most popular in the country, with tickets selling every year in just a few minutes.
