Through MackNeXT, its specialized subsidiary, it aims to create an audiovisual production center in Plobsheim, very close to Strasbourg.

Good news for the town? "This is unexpected," said the mayor of Plobsheim, Anne-Catherine Weber, on Thursday. We will have the chance to welcome a world-renowned company. ” The town "offers the calm and serenity necessary for creative development", according to a press release from the group. Which specifies that the natural environment will be respected and preserved.

"We are green but not far from the station, the international airport and the communication routes with Germany," explains the mayor of Plobsheim. It also highlights the presence of the Kempferhof golf course, which allows employees to take advantage of a “high-end” hotel offer.

First establishment in France

The Mack group aims to create a residence reserved for professional use which will not be intended to accommodate the general public but "a place to promote creative exchanges, imagine, conceptualize and develop new sequences and media experiences", dixit the press release . It will consist of three spaces.

Initially, offices intended to "welcome talents and creatives in the fields of production, post-production, 3D animation and virtual reality" will be created. If everything goes as planned, they should then host "a multi-use studio", in other words a place "which would allow to host meetings, receptions, shootings or photo-shootings".

Finally, there will be a space provided for “international multimedia professionals and project leaders in the field of immersive entertainment, tourism and leisure” to meet. Mack International's head office in France would also be located there. A first establishment in France.

An investment between 2.5 and 4 million euros

This cross-border project could see the light of day by the end of 2021. It represents an investment "of between 2.5 and 4 million euros" and would "create nearly 50 jobs", according to the group . There remains a technical obstacle to overcome, the modification of the PLU (local urban plan) in Plobsheim, to allow the group to install its premises on this agricultural land. "There is a certain formalism to be respected but we have been working on it for three years, I am confident," said the mayor of Plobsheim.

2020 is an investment year for the owners of Europa-Park, which launched the new Rutlantica park. The Mack group has launched a recruitment campaign to fill 400 positions for the season.
