In 2017, the former Party Committee Office of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission issued the "Notice on Matters Concerning the Prohibition of Drinking Alcohol in the Official Activities of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice").

  The "Notice" stated that all departments, dispatched agencies and directly affiliated institutions of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission should strictly abide by relevant disciplines in official activities, including drinking alcohol during working hours and at noon on working days; it is forbidden to provide and drink any alcohol during official activities. Drinking alcohol is not allowed in official receptions, and those who need to drink alcohol due to special circumstances such as foreign affairs activities must report to the department and unit leaders for approval and strictly control them; it is strictly forbidden for departments and units to interact Banquet drinking; public funds are prohibited to buy or give away any alcohol.

  Not limited to the insurance industry, some state-owned enterprises also have explicit regulations on alcohol prohibition. For example, China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. and China Electronics Corporation have also issued relevant alcohol prohibition measures.
