• Companies The end of the government's discount on gasoline fuels the trade war between oil companies

  • Measures Cepsa, Galp and Shell-Disa join Repsol and maintain gasoline discounts despite the end of 20 cents

The Spanish Confederation of Service Station Entrepreneurs (Ceees) warned this Thursday that some gas stations are having problems supplying fuel due to the

foreseeable increase in demand

that will occur during the last days of the year because the general discount of 20 cents is over per liter.

This was explained to Servimedia by the general director of Ceees,

Nacho Rabadán

, who indicated that the gas stations that are having the most problems are the "white label" ones and those located in rural areas since all the stations are stockpiling fuel.

In fact, he pointed out that today there is already a significant increase in demand, which is already doubling compared to the usual, which explains why

"bottlenecks"

are taking place in the distribution carried out by the providers.

In this regard, he pointed out that gas stations belonging to groups that have distribution have easier access to fuel than independent ones that are supplied in the market, problems that

are more accentuated in rural areas

.

"FULL, PLEASE"

Referring to the increase in demand, he stressed that customers have returned to "full, please", something that according to Rabadán

had not happened in a general way since before the pandemic

.

On the other hand, he warned that beyond the gas stations, "where there is a very big problem" of supply is in the distribution of

diesel B used for heating,

which also benefits from the 20 cent discount.

Therefore, he regretted that when making this decision "the Government should have done things

with more head and more planning

because when it was officially announced it was already too late."

In addition, according to Rabadán, the decision to withdraw this aid is "a hasty measure" since the sector anticipates that the price of fuels will be

"still very high in 2023"

.

"They have made a mistake in the diagnosis," he stated, before concluding that the direct aid approved for carriers "has fallen far short."

This employer already warned last week that the inconclusiveness maintained by the Government about the 20-cent bonus condemned the sector and

society "to chaos, queues and shortages."

In this regard, Ceees criticized that the Government did not anticipate anything about its decision prior to the approval of the measure with the aim of

having prepared the end of the year and the entry into 2023 more calmly
