According to Demin, the reason is that the Russian side cannot make a payment under the conditions of European sanctions.

On August 10, the Hungarian MOL and Slovnaft paid transit fees for transporting oil through the southern branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline.

The Russian side also agreed with this decision.
