Five-time F1 World Champion, Fangio has won 24 Grand Prix out of the 51 in which he participated.
A record still unequalled!
Not afraid to face death with overpowered racing cars during events where safety was almost nil, the Argentinian entered the legend of motorsport thanks to his exceptional driving.
In 1958 he rode his last season for Mercedes.
To celebrate the end of his career, the star manufacturer presented him with a light blue 300 SL cabriolet, the interior of which was finished in beige leather.
This car, the former pilot kept it until the end of his life, traveling 70,000 km at the wheel.
Exhibited in a museum since 1986, the Mercedes is now offered for sale by RM Sotheby's.
Preserved in its strictly original condition, it shows signs of wear, in particular on the level of the seats which have obviously lived well.
Given its clear history and its illustrious owner, the 300 SL should reach new heights.
If you are interested, you have until March 25 to make an offer!
