The new Formula 1 season begins on Saturday with the Bahrain Grand Prix (4 p.m. CET, live ticker SPIEGEL.de, TV: Sky and RTL) The race in Bahrain was brought forward to Saturday, as was the second race on March 9 in Saudi Arabia.

The first two race weekends begin on Thursday with free practice, and qualifying takes place on Friday. There have been no major reforms in the technical regulations. There will be new engine regulations for two years. The new cars this season are more or less major developments of the 2023 models.
