For its survey, Test-Achats asked 52,000 owners about the reliability of their cars, aged between 6 months and 10 years.
The study first reveals that the most frequently cited problems are related to the car's electrical functions (17%).
Then come the brakes (13%), then the engine.
The magazine has also established a ranking of the most reliable brands, and Lexus comes out on top with a score of 95/100, followed by Subaru (93/100), then Toyota (91/100). First European manufacturer in this ranking, Seat is in 10th position with 85/100. Mercedes and BMW are tied for 13th place with a score of 82/100. At the bottom of the pack, we find Jaguar, Land Rover and Alfa Romeo (respectively 68 and 64/100 exæquo), while the red lantern is… Tesla, with only 60/100.
This is far from the first time that the young American brand has stood out in the wrong way in reliability studies, but the most surprising thing is that it is on the other hand at the top of the satisfaction rate ranking, with an index of 91/100.
This proves that the brand has such an attraction for its customers that they do not hold it against random reliability.
And one can imagine that in France, such a study would give the same result.
