In Brussels, one person was killed and another seriously injured by gunfire during the night from Saturday to Sunday, during two shootings. This type of violence has increased in recent months in the Belgian capital.

Local authorities point the finger at drug trafficking originating from the port of Antwerp, the main gateway for cocaine into Europe. While crack consumption also seems to be increasing, several neighborhood committees have asked the authorities to react. The Brussels region unveiled a plan in mid-March to fight drug trafficking.
