The total value of deals and contracts announced during the first day of the Dubai Airshow 2021, which kicked off today, amounted to about 138 billion dirhams, and included 255 Airbus A321neo aircraft, as well as 100 helicopters.


Four airlines affiliated with the "Indigo Partners" group, which are: "Wizz Air - Hungary", "Frontier" of the United States, "Volaris" of Mexico, and "JetsSmart" of Chile and Argentina, signed a billion deal to purchase 255 additional A321neo aircraft, bringing the The total number of aircraft ordered by "Indigo Partners" airlines of the "A320" family is 1145 aircraft.

The deal included 102 planes for Wizz Air Hungary, 91 planes for Frontier, 39 planes for Volaris, and 23 planes for Jetsmart.

The value of the deal, according to the company's announced price schedule for 2018, amounts to about 33 billion dollars (about 121 billion dirhams).

In turn, the Tawazun Economic Council announced the signing of a letter of intent to purchase 100 multi-use “500VRT” helicopters from Aeroter, at a value of 216.9 million euros (equivalent to 913 million dirhams).

It is expected to start receiving it in 2023.

The Edge Group, through its subsidiary, JAL, also won an exclusive contract worth 11 billion dirhams to provide services for aircraft of the UAE Air Force and Air Defense.


In addition, the exhibition's military committee announced the signing of deals worth 5.24 billion dirhams for the Ministry of Defense during the activities of the first day.
