Roscosmos has approved the preliminary design of the Russian Orbital Station (ROS) The deployment of ROS is planned for the period from 2027 to 2032. Unlike the ISS, the new station will be able to operate in visiting mode - i.e.

the constant presence of astronauts will not be required. Earlier, the general designer for manned complexes and systems of Russia, Vladimir Solovyov, said that the service life of the ROS will be set at 50 years. The design is based on a node module with six docking ports to which other modules are connected.
