Due to the complicated terrain, geology and climatic conditions along the Sichuan-Tibet Railway, the ecological environment is fragile, the construction mileage is very long, the proportion of bridges and tunnels is very high, the project is extremely difficult, and the construction period will exceed 10 years.

In order to support the construction of the Sichuan-Tibet Railway, our ministry vigorously promoted the planning and construction of supporting roads, studied construction plans and investment policies, and carried out the improvement and transformation of the Sichuan-Tibet highway.

Currently, related projects are progressing as planned.

[Explanation] At the press conference, Wang Yang also introduced the development and planning progress of China's high-speed maglev train.

He pointed out that relevant parties have built a platform for research and development, testing, and trial production of high-speed maglev trains, and test prototypes have also been successfully run.

The high-speed maglev train has the advantages of frictionless, strong climbing ability, energy saving and environmental protection. At present, everyone is paying great attention. The relevant parties are also actively developing research and development work. R&D, testing, and trial production platforms have been built, and the test prototypes have also been successfully tested.

In the next stage, it is necessary to strengthen technical research, further improve technological maturity, strengthen economic comparison, operation feasibility analysis, and promote the planning and construction of the project when the conditions are met, and the relevant situation will be notified to everyone in time.
