The construction of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor is a major strategic plan made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core. The main channel runs from Chongqing and Chengdu in three directions: east, middle and west to the estuary of Beibu Gulf.
It connects the Silk Road Economic Belt to the north and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road to the south. At present, the rail-sea combined transport trains have transported more than 200,000 TEUs this year.
