Four traps that citizens need to be aware of when buying second-hand goods

News from our newspaper (Reporter Wang Wei) At the end of last year, the Jiangsu Provincial Consumer Protection Commission conducted a special investigation on the consumption of second-hand platforms, and found that second-hand platforms such as Xianyu, Zhuanzhuan, Xianzhuan, Looking for Liangji, and Huafener sold pornographic products and were suspected of selling pornographic products. Over 90% of the interviewees have acquiesced in selling counterfeit products and publishing information in violation of regulations.

Recently, in order to fully understand the second-hand platform consumption market conditions and sort out the hot and difficult problems in the second-hand platform consumption, Beijing Sunshine Consumer Big Data Research Institute and Consumer Network conducted a statistical analysis of public opinion data on second-hand platform consumption last year.

Public opinion data shows that in the negative public opinion of second-hand platform consumption, selling counterfeit and inferior products, false prices, platform failure to fulfill responsibilities, and malicious fraud have become the most complaints.

Public opinion data reflects that the negative public opinion on second-hand platform consumption is mainly concentrated in four aspects: selling counterfeit and shoddy products, falsely reporting prices, platform failure to perform responsibilities, and malicious fraud.

Among them, the sale of fake and inferior products has the most negative public opinion, accounting for more than 30% of all negative public opinions.

Some sellers deliberately conceal product quality problems, and even sell counterfeit and shoddy products through second-hand platforms, and consumers refuse to return or delay refunds after purchase.

Inflated prices and negative public opinion regarding platform failure to fulfill their responsibilities both accounted for more than 20% of all negative public opinions.

Negative public opinion on false high prices is mainly caused by sellers deliberately exaggerating product performance and efficacy, and falsely high prices to deceive consumers; platforms fail to fulfill their responsibilities. Negative public opinions are mainly reflected in the failure of some second-hand platforms to strictly perform qualification review and daily management obligations, leading to many false sellers Selling fake and inferior products on the platform seriously damages the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.

In addition, the negative public opinion of malicious fraudulent consumption is also worthy of attention.

As the second-hand market is currently not well regulated and lacks effective supervision, some criminals took the opportunity to pretend to be buyers or sellers on the second-hand platform and seek illegal benefits through fraudulent means.
