A new national certification system has been introduced for a service called "time stamp" that records the creation time of documents created with electronic data.

The aim is to prevent falsification of documents, eliminate the need to save them on paper, and promote digitization.

Timestamp is a technology that records the time when a document is created by electronic data and prevents falsification or forgery of the document, and IT companies and others have already provided services.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has decided to introduce a new certification system for these time stamp services from April.

The application is accepted from the company that provides the service, and after examining whether it meets the standards such as security, it is certified.

As time stamps become more widespread, the need to store documents on paper will decrease, so we aim to promote the digitization of documents by introducing a national certification system.

After the Cabinet meeting, Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Takeda told reporters, "A similar certification system has been operated as a private sector initiative, but in order to further expand the use of time stamps and facilitate data distribution overseas. , It is necessary to create a highly reliable system managed by the government.
