Al-Rayyes added that "in light of the travel procedures that require tourists from the point of departure to their arrival in Dubai, due to the current circumstances created by the pandemic, including the requirements for examinations, a large proportion of international tourists prefer to spend longer vacations."

He pointed out that this was reflected in the number of hotel nights recorded by visitors, starting last July, with the emirate opening its doors to international tourism.

And Al-Rayyes indicated that "the increase in the average number of hotel nights per tourist is directly reflected in the increase in the rate of spending per trip, which is a positive indicator under the current circumstances," adding that "this also contributes to supporting hotel revenues and sales, as well as restaurants and other major spending categories." Awadallah said, "Visitors who have resorted to extending their vacations in Dubai recently, prefer to stay in the emirate for a longer period of time due to several factors, most notably its tourist attraction, moderate temperatures, as well as the confidence and reassurance factor for them."

Rates are high

The CEO of "Time Hotels Group", Mohamed Awadallah, expects that the group's hotels will achieve occupancy rates ranging between 80 and 85% during January, which are among the very high rates.

He said, "With the recent issuance of the visa extension decision, we noticed a number of visitors extending their vacations, especially in conjunction with the Dubai Shopping Festival."
