China News Service, December 24. At a press conference held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on the morning of the 24th, Tang Ke, Director of the Department of Market and Information Technology of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said in response to a reporter’s question that my country’s wheat and rice output is stable this year. With the increase, the inventory is still at a historical high. It is expected that the overall price of rations in the later period will continue to stabilize.

Tang Ke said that the "rice bag" is unstable, mainly due to insufficient production and supply of the two ration varieties of rice and wheat.

Due to high yields of rice and wheat and abundant stocks for many years, my country’s grain prices have continued to run at low levels in recent years. This year, affected by the epidemic, disasters, and capital speculation, prices of some varieties have recovered in stages, but they remain basically stable.

In terms of varieties: the price of rice is "strong indica and japonica weak".

With the harvest of autumn grains on the market, the supply of rice grains is sufficient. The prices of indica rice and indica rice in the south are stable and strong, while the prices of stem rice and stem rice in the north are relatively weak.

In November, the average purchase price of late indica rice was 1.35 yuan, up 1.5% month-on-month; stem rice was 1.39 yuan, down 0.7% from the previous month; the average wholesale price of late indica rice was 2.10 yuan per catty, the same month-on-month.

Stem rice is 2.10 yuan per catty, down 0.5% from the previous month, which is the price of rice.

Tang Ke said that from the perspective of wheat prices, they stabilized after a slight increase.

After the wheat harvest this summer went on the market, the price has risen due to the increase in corn prices. Recently, with the arrival of the auction policy-based grain sources, the market has abundant supply, the price of ordinary wheat has remained stable, and the high-quality wheat has strengthened.

In November, ordinary wheat in Zhengzhou Grain Wholesale Market was 1.23 yuan per catty, unchanged from the previous month; high-quality wheat was 1.46 yuan per catty, up 4.5% from the previous month.

This year, my country's wheat and rice output has increased steadily, and inventories are still at historical highs. It is expected that the overall price of rations in the later period will continue to remain stable.
