“According to the Ministry of Finance, the reloading of agreements on the avoidance of double taxation will bring the Russian budget about 130-150 billion rubles a year.

This is mainly due to Cyprus, the corresponding agreement has already been signed.

A significant amount of income is also expected due to the signing of an agreement with Malta, then with Luxembourg and offshore islands located in British jurisdiction, ”the expert emphasized.

According to him, the forecasts of the Ministry of Finance on filling the budget from the revision of the agreements are realistic.

At the same time, as the expert emphasized, the initiative could push entrepreneurs to re-register in the so-called Russian offshores.

We are talking about special administrative regions with preferential taxation on the Russian islands in Primorye and Oktyabrsky in the Kaliningrad region.

“A number of companies will indeed return to special administrative regions.

This trend is slowly emerging.

And this, of course, is the return of the tax base to Russia, ”Maslennikov added.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order approving the draft protocol on amendments to the Convention for the avoidance of double taxation with Malta.
