DED, represented by the Dubai Export Development Corporation (DEDC) and the Dubai Department of Business Excellence (DED), has launched the Smart Industry Award to be added to the categories of the Dubai Quality Award, which aims to engage the industrial sector in the march of excellence within the Business Excellence Awards, and to achieve the vision of Dubai Industrial Strategy 2030. To encourage Dubai's industrial sector, especially manufacturing, to compete on the basis of knowledge and innovation, keep pace with global trends in digital industrial transformation, and adopt the tools of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Dubai Export Development Authority (DED), which oversees the Dubai Industrial Strategy 2030, in collaboration with the Department of Excellence for Business, will work to spread this category of awards in the industrial sector, which is one of the most important tributaries of economic development.

The Smart Industry Award, which includes nine core criteria, is based on the European model of the European Foundation for Quality Management, in addition to technical standards to measure the extent of transformation of processes digitally, and integration in the horizontal and vertical value chains in the industrial organization, to include the development, manufacturing, supply, products and services chain.

Al Awadi stressed that the launch of the award promotes the adoption of advanced technologies, and transforming future challenges into rewarding opportunities and multiple returns in the industrial sector, pointing out that the Smart Industry Award will contribute to spreading the culture of adopting advanced technologies supporting the industrial sector.

Digital Maturity Level
