Dubai Export Development Corporation (DEDC), one of Dubai's economic institutions, is planning to participate in the World Food Fair (ANOGA), hosted by the German city of Cologne, to be held this year from 5 to 9 October. The participation of the Corporation is part of a clear strategy aimed at highlighting local products and enhancing their competitiveness, especially as they enjoy the highest levels of quality, enhance the contribution of non-oil sectors to the national economy, and open new prospects for export channels in international markets.
Dubai Exports is participating in this exhibition for the fifth consecutive time in 10 years.
Ahmed Al Omari, Director of Export Markets Development at the Dubai Export Development Corporation, said: “Through our presence at this important event, we are keen to provide the best opportunities by introducing international companies to UAE products and services competing with the finest international products, in addition to holding meetings with importers and traders. In addition to highlighting the opportunities offered by the food and beverage sector in Dubai, our participation in previous editions has been very fruitful and has helped us realize our strategies to enhance export opportunities for UAE companies. ”
Al Omari added: “During the past sessions, the Foundation has contributed to the promotion of more than 67 local companies, and support more than 500 UAE products in the global markets, by opening new export channels in the regional and international markets. Dubai has an attractive climate for diversified re-exports. ”
He continued: «According to statistics issued by the Dubai Export Development Corporation, it was found that only 2% of companies operating in Dubai are engaged in export activities, compared with developed countries, where the global average of almost 9%, and thanks to effective export planning, the number of companies benefited Of the company's services increased by 44% in 2018 compared to the previous year ».
