Benyamin Netanyahu promises not to dismantle any Israeli settlement. The Israeli Prime Minister said this Wednesday night in a speech to settlers. A promise made as the US administration promises to unveil the political plan of his peace plan. Plunged into a second election campaign in five months, the head of government wants to weld behind him a traditionally right electorate.

Week after week, the polls promise Benyamin Netanyahu the biggest difficulties to succeed in forming a government after the elections of 17 September . The Prime Minister therefore needs all the right voices.

In a speech delivered in a colony, Benyamin Netanyahu promised not to " repeat the mistakes of the past ". He says Israel has withdrawn from the Gaza Strip, but will not leave the West Bank. " We will not let any community or city be dismantled, be it Jewish or Arab ." The West Bank is part of " our homeland, " he says. He promised to maintain control of security in the occupied Palestinian territories, to continue building there. And during his speech, the Prime Minister never mentioned or opened the door to the possibility of a Palestinian state.

On Wednesday, July 10, Benyamin Netanyahu wanted to reassure an electorate that is worried about the concessions that the United States could ask Israel under the peace plan prepared by the Trump administration . Just before the April poll, he had already reached out to hundreds of thousands of voters, promising to annex settlements to Israeli territory.
