Several key Ukrainian companies and organizations reported cyberattacks and disruptions to their digital systems.

The state energy company Naftogaz, for example, said that one of its data centers had been hit by a “comprehensive cyber attack”.

This led to an outage of the company's websites and call center, the company said via Telegram.

However, there was no mention of failures or problems with the energy supply.

The website was still affected by the outage as of Thursday afternoon (German time).

“This site is currently offline,” a notice on the site said.

This was displayed by the IT service provider Cloudflare, with whom Naftogaz apparently works.

The Ukrainian state postal service Ukrposhta also reported a “serious technical failure in its IT systems.”

During the night there was an attack on the IT infrastructure of the company's partners, Ukrposhta boss Ihor Smeliansky said on Telegram.

The company's experts worked to fix the problem and restore all functions.

The Post website was accessible again on Thursday afternoon.

Ukrtransbezpeka, the state traffic safety agency, also reported difficulties.

The agency responsible for monitoring Ukraine's vehicle border crossing system spoke of problems with the data center, Reuters reported.

Repeated hacking attacks from Russia

Ukraine has long been targeted by hacker groups.

Again and again, traces lead to Russia.

For example, in the case of an attack on the Russian power grid, behind which a notorious group of Russian state hackers is said to be behind, as technical analyzes showed.

Cyber attacks have been occurring again and again, especially since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression.

In December 2023, for example, a comprehensive hacking attack on the largest Ukrainian mobile phone provider Kyivstar caused problems for residents for days.
