Elon Musk chases the blue bird from Twitter, replaced by an X

We knew the entrepreneur Elon Musk whimsical and determined since his acquisition of the social network Twitter. He continues his crusade by modifying his logo which now sports an X. This change foreshadows a set of evolutions that the prophet boss desires: video, banking system, messaging and services of all kinds... All under the same banner. Visionary or excessive? Time will tell.

Bye bye birdie... "X is here! We will do it, "had written on Twitter (now X, we will have to get used to it) Linda Yaccarino, the director of the social network Sunday night a photo of the new logo: a white X on a black background. Musk also changed his profile picture on Sunday to the new logo, describing it as "art deco." He also changed the link of his bio by a new url: X.com which now redirects to the site of the social network.

«

If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we will put it online worldwide tomorrow," Musk tweeted Sunday night. This has since been done on Monday, July 24, after sending an email to Twitter employees, meaning that it was his last email from a Twitter address, according to journalist Zoë Schiffer.

NEW: Elon Musk told Twitter employees late last night that he'd just sent them the last email he'd ever send from a Twitter email address. He signed off with this emoji: 🫡 https://t.co/3dD8cvSb0F

And the blue bird was hunted by an X. Elon Musk also indicated that the tweets would be called "Xs". The boss of Tesla, SpaceX, Twitter – now X – and Neuralink are particularly fond of this mathematical symbol. X.com was the name and website of the online bank founded by the businessman, which later became the online payment service PayPal. It is also found in the name of one of his children, a boy named X Æ A- 12.

« X will be the platform that can provide, well... all»

The company's new CEO, Linda Yaccarino, recruited just a month ago, detailed in a series of x's (the name of what was called a tweet is not yet determined) the upcoming plans for her company: "Powered by AI, X will connect us in ways we're just beginning to imagine." But still? "X is the future state of unlimited interactivity – centered on audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services and opportunities... There is absolutely no limit to this transformation. X will be the platform that can provide, well... all. Which still seems very smoky as a program, but we know the first victim: the little blue bird will disappear from our computer screens and soon from our phones.

There's absolutely no limit to this transformation. X will be the platform that can deliver, well....everything. @elonmusk and I are looking forward to working with our teams and every single one of our partners to bring X to the world.

The social network faces a myriad of competing apps

«

For years, fans and detractors alike have pushed Twitter to dream harder, to innovate faster, to fulfill our potential. X will do that and more," said the former NBC Universal executive, recruited by Elon Musk just a month ago. The social network faces a myriad of competing apps, including Meta's newcomer, Threads, which has 150 million users, according to some estimates. X has between 200 and 350 million active users depending on estimates.
