The Korean Traditional Simmani Association said in November of last year that a hiker found a rare wild ginseng weighing 415g in a mountain area on the border between Suncheon City and Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province.

The association requested an analysis of the ingredients after seeing that the color, shape, age, size, and weight of wild ginseng were distinctive compared to domestic wild ginseng.

As a result of analysis by Chungbuk Advanced Horticulture Center researchers and Chungbuk National University Horticultural Science Professor Baek Ki-yeop, the wild ginseng has high Rg3 (Rg3) content, which is the most effective anti-cancer substance among saponin components of ginseng.

The association concluded that this wild ginseng resembled wild ginseng that appeared in the Baekje and Unified Silla eras 1300 to 1500 years ago, and estimated the estimated value at 680 million won.

Netizens commented, "This is the first type of wild ginseng I've ever seen. Who will eat it... I'm envious!", "Should I quit my job and go hunting for wild ginseng?"

and so on.
