A public official at an administrative welfare center in Ulju-gun, Ulsan is under police investigation for allegedly embezzling hundreds of millions of public funds.



According to Ulju-gun and Ulju Police Station today (27th), employee A, who is in charge of budgeting and contracts at the Administrative Welfare Center, went to the police station on the 26th and surrendered.



As a result of the police investigation, it was confirmed that Mr. A was audited by Ulju-gun for embezzling about 180 million won in public money in recent months.



It was revealed that Mr. A spent a false budget under the pretext of spending center operating expenses or signing a contract, and then transferred the amount to his account to siphon off public funds.



The crime of Mr. A, which had been going on for several months, did not last very long.



The center, suspicious of the recent lack of operating expenses, began to check the budget details, and in the process, Mr. A's crime was discovered.



Subsequently, when Ulju-gun started an audit, the police believe that Mr. A, who felt psychological pressure, surrendered himself.



The police are investigating Mr. A on charges of business-related embezzlement after receiving related materials such as deposit and withdrawal statements from Ulju-gun.



Regarding this case, Ulju-gun also released Mr. A from his position on the 27th and is auditing it.
