The civic group Workplace Gapjil 119 announced today (26th) that it has selected cases of 'five major verbal abuse' of severe severity among 512 reports of assault and verbal abuse received this year.



This group said, "If it's hard for that kind of thing, everyone else committed suicide", "If that's enough, even a dog would understand...", "Shoot ○○ with a tool and kill it", "Do you wear hair in foam? It's the first time you've seen ○○ like you. I see", "You ○○, you talk trash about me? You saw me like ○", etc. were selected as the top 5 verbal abuse.



Among the 1,151 email reports (including duplicates) related to workplace harassment received by Workplace Gapjil 119 from January to November of this year, unfair instructions (558 cases) were the most common, followed by assault and abusive language (512 cases).



Of the 25,854 cases of workplace harassment reported to the Ministry of Employment and Labor between July 16, 2019, when the Anti-Workplace Harassment Act was enforced, and August of this year, verbal abuse accounted for the most (8,841 cases, 34.2%), followed by unfair personnel (3,674 cases). Cases, 14.2%) followed by bullying and gossip (2,867 cases, 11.1%).



Workplace Gabjil 119 informed that if a boss's verbal abuse is serious, it can be reported as assault, and if it is used in front of many people, it can be reported as defamation or insult.



In particular, it was recommended to record, saying that there are many cases where verbal abuse is not recognized as workplace harassment even if there is no objective evidence.
