A train is stopped on a railroad bridge over the Han River.

Yesterday (15th) around 8:00 pm, the express train on subway line 1 heading from Yongsan Station to Noryangjin Station in Seoul suddenly stopped due to a breakdown.

While the train was running, it stopped at a railroad bridge over the Han River.

There were about 500 passengers on the train at the time.

KORAIL connected another train to the broken train and moved it to Noryangjin Station two hours later at around 10:00 p.m.

Passengers were forced to fall, trapped in unheated trains for two hours.

[Accident train passenger: It crashed and then crashed in the middle of the Han River bridge.

legs...

don't walk

I couldn't eat, I couldn't go to Cheonan, there were no buses, and there were no taxis at 12 o'clock.

It's in the countryside.]

Even though there were already signs of abnormality, such as the door not opening from Yongsan Station, it continued to operate without additional inspection.

[Accident train passenger: The door did not open in Yongsan and was stopped in that state.

Normally, you have to move and match, but I didn't match, and I just opened the door in that state and people got on and off.]

As a result of SBS coverage, the cause of the train stopping accident was revealed to be a defect in the door opener itself.

If the inspection had been performed when abnormal signs occurred at Yongsan Station, the two-hour stop accident on the bridge could have been prevented, but Korail ignored it and pushed ahead with the operation.

It is already the 18th KORAIL accident that occurred this year.

There were 13 derailment accidents and 4 deaths of workers, followed by suspension of operation.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, which has been inspecting over the past month, has announced that it will form a team of 100 private experts this time to conduct a large-scale on-site investigation, but it is necessary to check the fundamental safety management system.
