Prosecutors have secured a statement that former Chairman Kim Seong-tae received letters from North Korea's top officials, including Chairman Kim Jong-un, and used them for business.

Prosecutors have secured statements from multiple related persons that former chairman Kim Seong-tae received several personal letters from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and former Asia-Pacific Peace Committee chairman Kim Yong-chul.

It is said that the specific delivery route statement that the personal letter was delivered to former Chairman Kim through a Ssangbang-ul employee who visited China from the North Korean consulate general in China was also reported.

A businessman who was contacted by the Panda team until the end of the SBS investigative report said, "Former chairman Kim Seong-tae showed off a personal letter sent by Kim Jong-un around 2019, and he invited me to participate in a North Korea project led by him."

Prosecutors suspect that 6.4 million dollars smuggled into China from the end of 2018 to the beginning of 2019 were delivered to North Korea, and whether the letter was sent in return.

In addition, we are paying attention to the possibility that former Chairman Kim used this personal letter to attract investment in North Korea projects and boost stock prices.

More details will be delivered on SBS 8 News.
