Today (30th) at 6:54 am, -17.5 degrees below zero was recorded at the Automatic Weather Monitoring Equipment (AWS) of Jungcheong Shelter in Mt. Seorak, Gangwon-do.

This morning, the perceived temperature of Mt. Seorak fell to minus 27.5 degrees Celsius.

On the last day of November, the cold weather that makes me forget the cozy days before today has arrived.

While a cold wave warning was issued across the country, the temperature this morning stopped between 12 and 2 degrees below zero, 15 to 20 degrees lower than yesterday morning, and the perceived temperature was around -15 degrees below zero.

Until 8:00 am, the lowest temperature in Daegwanryeong, Gangwon-do, was minus 10.4 degrees, recorded at 7:43 am.

The lowest temperature in Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do (7:17 am) and Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do (7:41 am) was -8.9 degrees Celsius.

The minimum perceived temperature in Cheorwon-gun and Paju-si was minus 15.5 degrees and minus 13.3 degrees, respectively.

In Seoul, the lowest temperature was minus 6.8 degrees (7:24 am), and the lowest perceived temperature was minus 14.4 degrees at the same time (6:34 am).

In particular, in Jung-gu, Seoul, the temperature and perceived temperature went down to minus 9.1 degrees and minus 17.4 degrees.

It will be cold during the day today.

The highest temperature during the day is expected to be between 3 degrees below zero and 6 degrees below zero.

The central region, including Seoul, will be below freezing during the day, and the southern region will also stay below 5 degrees Celsius during the day.

The cold will be worse tomorrow (December 1) morning.

Tomorrow morning, the lowest temperature will be 1 to 5 degrees lower than today, and it will be 14 to 1 degrees below zero.

From my daytime, the temperature turns upside down, but the cold doesn't go away, so the morning of December 2nd will be as cold as today.

The continental high pressure that caused the cold wave is approaching Korea quickly.

As the barometer tightened, the wind picked up.

Today, strong winds with wind speeds of 35 to 60 km (10 to 16 ㎧) per hour will blow in the coastal areas, Gangwonsanji, Gyeongbukdongsanji, and Jeju.

Wind speeds in the mountains are expected to exceed 90 km/h (25 m/s).

In other areas, there may be places where the instantaneous wind speed exceeds 55 km/h (15 m/s).

In most seas, the wind will blow very strongly at 35-70km (10-20㎧) per hour until tomorrow, and the waves will rise as high as 2-4m, so be careful when sailing.

Cloud belts created by the difference in sea temperature (temperature difference between atmosphere and sea surface) in the West Sea today are brought in by the northwest wind, causing occasional rain or snow in the west coast of Jeollabuk-do, Jeju, and South Chungcheong Province, and snow will blow in the inland areas of North Jeolla Province.

Also, in the morning, it will snow occasionally in the middle and northern inland of Chungnam, and it will snow in the west coast of Gyeonggi-do, the inland of South Chungcheong, the central part of Chungbuk, and the southern part of Chungbuk.

Precipitation is expected to be less than 5 mm in Jeollabuk-do and Jeju, and less than 5 mm in the west coast of Chungnam, inland in central Chungnam, inland in northern Chungnam, 5 islands in the West Sea, Ulleungdo and Dokdo.

The expected snowfall is 1 to 5 cm in the western part of Jeonbuk and Jeju Mountains (more than 7 cm in many places), and 1 to 3 cm in the west coast of Chungnam, the interior of central Chungnam, the interior of North Chungcheong Province, the western part of Jeonnam, the 5 West Sea, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.
