We delivered the news yesterday (16th) that the prosecution raided the office of Rep. Woong-rae Noh of the Democratic Party on charges of receiving 60 million won from a businessman.

The prosecution suspects that he received money in the name of expenses for general elections and party primary elections.

In response, Rep. Roh strongly protested, saying that she would risk her political life to reveal her innocence.

There are two charges of congressman Noh Woong-rae in the search warrant: bribery and violation of the Political Fund Act.

It is said that businessman Park Mo handed a total of 60 million won along with various requests through his wife, who is close to Congressman Roh.

Prosecutors suspected that Park handed over 30 million won twice in the name of election funds ahead of the April 2020 general election.

Asking for help through the Minister of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs followed, as the promotion of the power plant delivery business or the promotion of the Yongin Logistics Complex development project hit a wall.

Even after winning the election, Mr. Park stated that he delivered 10 million won to borrow the railroad construction land to promote the solar electricity business.

18 days before the declaration of running for the Supreme Council, the prosecution suspected that Rep. Roh had received it in the name of election expenses for the National Convention.

The charges were also included in giving 10 million won each to the head of the Central Regional Tax Service and Korea East-West Power executives in the name of asking for personnel appointments.

Rep. Roh objected that he had no one-on-one with Mr. Park, and that the solar power business was not an area under the jurisdiction of the Environment and Labor Committee in which he was active.

I will risk all my political life to prove my innocence.]

Justice Minister Han Dong-hoon also responded to Rep. Roh's opposition to the duke investigation.

[Han Dong-Hoon/Minister of Justice: I think that 'prosecution reform is to prevent politicians from investigating crimes received from businessmen' is deceiving the people.]

Following Lee Jae-myung's closest aides, such as Vice President Kim Yong and Chief Jeong Jin-sang, even Rep. Roh was investigated. While receiving, the judicial risk within the Democratic Party is expanding.
