Prosecutors have asked the court to sentence a resident in his 20s who has been verbally abusive and threatening to an apartment security guard for years.

According to the legal community today (17th), the Seoul Western District Prosecutor's Office asked for 1 year and 6 months in prison for A (26), who was handed over to trial on charges of obstruction of business, assault, and threats of retaliation on the 7th.

Mr. A, a resident of an apartment in Mapo-gu, Seoul, is accused of abusing 10 people, including security guards and management staff, for several years from 2019.

Mr. A ran a cafe in an apartment complex, and it was investigated that he made demands that were outside the scope of security guard duties, such as repairing air conditioners, cleaning bathrooms, and delivering parcels.

When the security guard refused, Mr. A filed a complaint for negligence, saying, "I am a resident who pays the management fee. I will stop it."

It is known that about 10 employees quit due to Mr. A's abuse of power.

Accordingly, Mr. B, the manager of the apartment management, sued Mr. A to the police in December 2020, and Mr. A was indicted in June of the following year.

Meanwhile, Mr. A counter-sued Mr. B, the apartment management manager who sued him, for assault, and filed a civil lawsuit worth tens of millions of won against the residents and management staff who appeared at the investigative agency and testified.

Mr. B, the head of the management office, was acquitted of the charges, and in the civil lawsuit, Mr. A either lost or the court withdrew the case and made a compulsory mediation decision.

It is known that Mr. A filed a complaint with the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul last April for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act against netizens who commented on articles related to his case.

Mr. A's first trial sentence will be held on the 7th of next month at the Seoul Western District Court.
