A man in his 30s who severely assaulted a middle-aged man who was with his mother after suspecting that he was her lover was sentenced to prison.

The 13th Criminal Division of the Incheon District Court (Chief Judge Ho Seong-ho) announced today (16th) that Mr. A (37), who was charged with serious injury, was sentenced to two years in prison.

Mr. A was charged with injuring Mr. B (50) by punching him in the face three times at around 0:35 am on March 11 at a park in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon.

Mr. B was diagnosed with a broken cheekbone, loss of his right vision and needing treatment for over 6 months.

It was investigated that Mr. A committed the crime because he thought his mother and Mr. B had an internal relationship.

The relationship between A's mother and B's is unknown.

The judge explained, "The victim underwent several surgeries after the incident, but lost his right vision."

"The defendant's crime was not only very violent, but the victim suffered from a disability, but the defendant did not offer a sincere apology," he said. The reason for the sentencing was revealed.
