According to a survey result, the weight of one chicken varies by up to twice depending on which franchise and which product it is.

In addition, it was found that eating just one animal exceeded the daily intake of sugar, sodium, and calories. Reporter Lee Hye-mi reports.

I ordered one chicken each from two franchise stores.

However, it weighs about twice as much.

The same is true if you remove the bones and sift out only the edible parts.

The two companies said they used chickens of the same size, but in reality there was a big difference.

Heavy products are 3,000 won more expensive, but since there is so much to eat, recalculating the price per 100g was rather economical.

When the Korea Consumer Agency compared 24 franchise chicken products, the weight was different depending on the size of the chicken, the batter, and the amount of seasoning.

Nutrients also differed significantly.

The sodium and saturated fat content of each chicken differed by nearly four times, and the sugar content increased by up to 20 times.

In particular, spicy chicken with a lot of capsaicin had a high sugar content.

The calorie content of one chicken fried in oil and seasoned is up to 1.5 times the standard 2,000 kilocalories per day for an adult woman.

Even if you only eat half of them, pair them with a pint of beer and you'll get the calories you would eat for two meals in one sitting.

Agency Food Microbiology Team Leader: Because it is fried and cooked in oil, the fat content is high, and the seasoning sauce added contains a large amount of sodium and sugar, so it is necessary to adjust the intake per serving.]

We requested that only 4 out of 10 franchise businesses disclose nutritional information.
