More than 70,000 new confirmed cases came out across the country today (15th) ahead of a full-fledged Corona 19 winter resurgence.
The Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters announced that as of 0:00 today, the number of corona19 confirmed cases increased by 72,883, bringing the cumulative total to 26,290,877.
The number of new confirmed cases today is 49,118 more than yesterday (23,765), which is a three-fold increase, reflecting the decrease in the number of diagnostic tests over the weekend.
There are 10,623 more than the last 8 days (62,260) a week ago, and 14,523 more than the last 1 day (58,360), two weeks ago. The increase is slow but clear.
It is the first time in about two months since September 15 (71,444) that the number of new confirmed cases per day has reached 70,000.
The number of severely ill patients in hospital was 412, down by 1 from yesterday (413), but it recorded 400 for two days in a row.
Yesterday, 39 patients died of Corona 19, 5 fewer than the previous day (44).
The cumulative death toll is 29,748, and the fatality rate is 0.11%.
