Today (3rd) morning, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website was restored after a failure that prevented access for nearly 50 minutes.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the website of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), the Corona 19 website connected to it, and the vaccination reservation system were not accessed from 9:00 am to 9:49 am today.

When I go to these homepages, I get 'Your connection is not set to private.

Access was blocked with a warning message stating 'An attacker may be attempting to steal your information (eg password, messages, credit card, etc.) from www.kdca.go.kr'.

As a result, advance reservations made through the vaccination reservation system, as well as updates of remaining vaccine reservations on the same day through portals such as Naver and Kakao, were disrupted.

Also, it was impossible to access the statistics on the number of confirmed cases posted on the Corona 19 website.

The quarantine authorities decided to stop the release of the Corona 19 statistical data, which had been distributed separately every morning, from the 31st of last month and replace it with the website update, but this error persisted after 9:30 am when the statistics of the confirmed cases were updated, and it was only four days after the suspension. Statistical data were also distributed.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) explained that the problem was caused by the expiration of the certificate that allowed access to the secure network.

It seems to be an error that occurred because the certificate was not renewed before the expiration.

In a situation where the COVID-19 epidemic continues, the website of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), the main ministry, has been thwarted due to a simple business error.

In this regard, an official from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said, "We will do our best to prevent recurrence by checking the normal operation of the overall server, such as checking the expiration date of the security certificate on the entire external website (homepage), and taking necessary measures."
