An e-cigarette that a passenger left in a taxi was found to contain narcotic substances, and the police have launched an investigation.



Today (26th), the Yangcheon Police Station announced that taxi driver A is conducting an investigation before being arrested by checking the drug content in the e-cigarette liquid cartridge, which he reported as lost.



After dropping off passengers at an apartment in Gangseo-gu, Seoul in August, Mr. A found an electronic cigarette in the seat of a taxi and filed a lost and found report at the Yangcheon Police Station.



However, afterward, a passenger, who is presumed to be the owner of the e-cigarette, called Mr. A due to the restriction on the display of the caller ID and suggested that “If you come to the e-cigarette, I will reward you 3 times the price”. informed of this fact.



As a result, the police conducted a simple drug test for narcotics, and as a result of the lost item, the result was positive, and the National Institute of Forensic Sciences has been requested for a detailed analysis.



A police official explained, "The detailed drug composition cannot be known until the results of a detailed analysis by the National Forensic Service come out." "We are investigating to identify the owner of the e-cigarette."



Earlier, on the 11th, a 20-something man in his twenties who left a zipper bag full of drugs in a taxi went back to the drop-off area to find it and was caught by the police.



The passenger also contacted the taxi driver saying, "I left something behind," and it is said that the driver suspected the white powder zipper bag in the back seat as a drug and reported it to a nearby police box.
