On the 20th, the Incheon District Court's Bucheon Branch 6th Criminal Division (Presiding Judge Kang Seong-woo) announced that Mr. A (44), who was charged with violating the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes and intimidation, was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison.



On February 19th, Mr. A was handed over to trial on charges of threatening to spray sulfuric acid if he did not comply with his request by calling Mr. B, a man in his 30s, who runs an errand center in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do.



It was investigated that A stalked 70 times, such as waiting in front of B's ​​workplace or sending text messages, for about 6 months from October last year to March of this year.



A asked B to confirm the address of the victim's police officer C's family and to abduct and assault him, but when B refused, it was revealed that he committed the crime with vindictiveness.

Previously, in April 2016, Mr. A was sentenced to prison for using a weapon and spraying sulfuric acid at four police officers, including Mr. C, who was working at the Gwanak Police Station in Seoul.



In the accident, Mr. C suffered second-degree burns to parts of his face and three other officers were also injured.



Mr. A first met Mr. C when he went to the police station to file a complaint with his boyfriend, whom he had met briefly in 2013, and the investigation concluded that Mr.



Person A, who learned of Mr. C's contact information during the investigation process, continued to contact him persistently.



Then, in 2016, Mr. A thought that the owner of the house had sneaked into his house and searched the house, so he asked Mr. C for advice, but Mr. A was identified as a suspect who broke the window of a neighboring studio, so Mr. C said, “I received an investigation into the case. Let's meet later," he said.



At this, Mr. A thought that Mr. C was avoiding him, went to the police station, sprayed sulfuric acid on Mr. C, and made a commotion.



In addition, Mr. A was sentenced to prison again for sending threatening letters to Mr. C and two of his family members while serving a sentence for the sulfuric acid attack.



The court said, "The defendant committed a stalking crime when he was rejected after requesting a follow-up investigation of the victim in the previous case, and the crime was extremely poor. He stated the reason for the sentencing.
