Five days after the tragedy that occurred in the building rue Manin in Paris, the parents of little Lola left the capital to recharge their batteries in the Pas-de-Calais.

It is in the small village of Hauts-de-France that Joann and Delphine have found refuge, supported by the mayor and its inhabitants.

Lola's family has found refuge in Fouquereuil, in Pas-de-Calais.

A homecoming in the small town of Hauts-de-France, family cradle.

Indeed, the father of the 12-year-old girl, whose body was found in a trunk in Paris on Friday, is from there.

Devastated by the savagery to which their granddaughter was subjected, Joann and Delphine isolated themselves at their grandmother's, in a small house set back from one of the main streets of the village.

Gérard Ogiez, the mayor, met the couple at length on Monday evening.

He says he was impressed by the dignity and courage of the parents plagued by unanswered questions.

Without ties to Paris, Joann and Delphine would have decided to return to settle in Fouquereuil.

Gérard Ogiez ensures that everything will be done to support this couple.

A solidarity that is also expressed in the village.

"We are all affected by what happened," says a resident.

"We are going to do what is necessary. And then we are going to support them, be present for them."

Friday afternoon, the inhabitants are called to come and pay homage to the little victim at the communal center of the village of Fouquereuil.
