"New images of the Pillars of Creation by Webb will help researchers upgrade their star formation models by more accurately counting newly formed stars," NASA said.

In July, American scientists published the first full photo from the James Webb telescope on their website.

The image shows the galaxy cluster SMACS 0723 at a distance of 4.6 billion light years.

In May, scientists from the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration published the first image of a black hole at the center of the Milky Way.
