A man in his 20s who was sentenced to 27 years in prison for killing his ex with a knife after searching the internet for a murder method appealed the first trial ruling.

According to the legal community on the 19th, Mr. A (24), who was recently sentenced to 27 years in prison for murder, submitted an appeal to the Incheon District Court the day before (18th) through his lawyer.

A is accused of killing his ex-lover B dozens of times in a villa in Namdong-gu, Incheon on the 23rd of May.

He entered the villa with Mr. B this morning and committed a crime with the prepared weapon, and tried to make an extreme choice, but received only minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

In the police investigation, Mr. A stated, “I had an argument with Mr. B” and “I was in a state of drinking.” After that, Mr. A searched the Internet for words such as 'how to kill people' and 'recommended knives' and used a weapon. It turned out to be a purchase.

Accordingly, the prosecution requested a life imprisonment for A at the trial last month, and the 12th Criminal Division (Chief Judge Im Eun-ha) of the Incheon District Court held on the 13th sentenced A to 27 years in prison and ordered him to attach a location tracking device for 15 years. I did.

The court said, "The crime method is very cruel, such as wielding a knife in about 40 places throughout the victim's body, and the quality of the crime is extremely poor." .

He continued, "Mr. A claimed that 'I don't remember the circumstances in which I killed the victim,' and did not seek forgiveness from the victim or make any effort to recover the damage." He explained the reason for the sentencing.

However, Mr. A filed an appeal on the ground that 'the sentence sentenced by the first trial judge was too heavy and unfair', and the prosecution also appealed on the grounds that the sentence was 'light'.

After that, Mr. A's appeal is scheduled to be held at the Seoul High Court, and the court of appeals is expected to be decided after the litigation record is transferred to the High Court.
