It was belatedly known that a fire chief in Seoul was dismissed from his position after swearing at the staff.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Seoul Fire and Disaster Headquarters sent two watermelons to the Eunpyeong Fire Station in July to encourage employees.

It is said that the administrative team employees who received the watermelon ate one of them first. Upon learning this, Chief A called the staff and rebuked them, 'Why did you guys eat the watermelon that came to the fire chief first?' and 'It's like stealing a watermelon' known to have done.

It is said that Chief A did not stop there, but called them back to the chief's office and made them shout a slogan 'I will never eat watermelon first again'.

Chief A was eventually released from his position last month after reporting workplace harassment, and it is known that the Seoul Fire and Disaster Headquarters is investigating additional cases of workplace harassment of Chief A, such as swearing at employees or restricting the use of vacation.
