A man in his 20s who raped a minor he met through random chat was arrested by the police.
Today (19th), Gyeonggi Northern Police Agency urgently arrested and investigated a man in his 20s on a road in Ilsandong-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do at around 10:40 last night on charges of violating the Act on the Protection of Sexuality of Children and Adolescents (lawful rape of minors).
Mr. A is accused of sexual assault by meeting a minor through random chatting in his car at around 4 pm yesterday.
According to the current law, sexual intercourse with a minor under the age of 16 is punishable as contemplative rape regardless of consent.
It is known that the police who arrived at the scene identified the phone number of Mr. A stored in the victim's cell phone, lured him and arrested him.
The police plan to forensic A's cell phone and investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.
